We are able to and have done plenty of long distance appraisals for both Canadians and U.S. residents with success, but each situation is indeed different. The documentation we do is based on the information you provide for us to substantiate your position. Digital images and the internet have opened a door to the world and now make appraisals available at any location in the world!
WHAT DO YOU NEED TO BE ABLE TO DO MY DISTANCE APPRAISAL?
I require detailed photographs of the front, rear, left, and right sides, close up and full shots, preferably with nothing in the background. Also the distinguishing numbers on the bike such as the V.I.N. on the frame, transmission, and engine cases, and the odometer. The same type of detailed photos of the expensive accessories are also required. The more photos you provide, the more accurate the evaluation can be. A picture speaks a thousand words, so show me where the money is, if you know what I mean. Furthermore, any receipts or documentation you have to substantiate value is beneficial, especially for the accessories I can't see, like internal components (clutch, cams, big bore kit etc.) ALL receipts and documents will be returned to you with your package. A photo copy of the current registration and M.S.O. (Manufacturers Statement of Origin) is necessary also - do NOT send originals.
We will work with you to provide you with the highest level of personalized service.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE?
Average turn around time for the appraisal is within ten days from when I receive your information. An e-mail copy will preceed the hard copy to speed up the process a bit. This is a seasonal business, so there may be variations on turn around times.
HOW MUCH DOES AN APPRAISAL COST?
The following information is intended to inform you of the general costs and measures that may be applicable to your specific situation. This information is not a quotation!
Detailed Appraisal: (which is similar to the one displayed, has more complete documentation of the enhancements and accessories) is $35.00/ hour with a $250.00 minimum, plus applicable taxes and return postage. This is the product the insurance companies prefer because of the detail and visible math to justify the values of the add on components.
Basic Appraisal: includes the appraisers certificate and only 1 information page with an explanation or description of the bike, a cursory summary of the investment into the bike and a photo page. The cost for this is $150.00 plus any applicable taxes and return postage. The difference in my price for an appraisal is in the time spent in the itemizing of the accessories.
Cheque, Visa or Master Card will be required prior to commencement on the appraisal.
HOW OFTEN SHOULD I GET MY BIKE APPRAISED?
Because most vehicles are depreciable items to one degree or another, and market values change, annual revisions should be considered. Your insurance provider will suggest when an update is required in your individual circumstance. That being said, when you do require the re-appraisal, you won't have to pay the full price of the appraisal again because we maintain our database with your info in it for up to three years, so we just "tweak" the values based on any changes in the machine or the market to reflect the annual differences at the hourly rate. This usually ends up costing less than half the original purchase price by the time we're through.
